To kill 2 birds with 1 st1. I will open with a statement at once shows my h1sty and should prove that I am a real person. On 3 separate occasions, I have forgotten my own name. And, no, drugs were not involved. The proper response to this, is to laugh. You can't be serious all the time.
Anyway. Since I assume people actually read these. I am going to write something that will both tell you about me, but will hopefully better you just in its reading.
I am 29 years old. I grew up in the country. I could read by 3, was doing algebra by 4. By ten I tested collage level in every subject except math. I have been studying psychology and people for as long as I can remember. While I am not the most experienced person, I have a wealth of knowledge.
Today, I think, I will talk about communication. A subject that will make or break any relationship, romantic or otherwise. I will also touch on the subject of respect. Though that is a subject for another time.
The most important aspect and biggest secret to good communication, is talking. I know this seems a little obvious, but it is the biggest hurdle.
Communication is the art of of taking thoughts from 1 mind and transferring them to another mind. If you aren't thinking what I am thinking, then communication has failed. Also, note that the burden of communication is upon the 1 trying to communicate. Not the 1 listening. If I want to communicate with you, it is my job to make you think what I am thinking.
That said, there is an old saying, "If you set some1 up for failure, they will fail." I have heard, dozens of times, a woman say that she wished her husband would just know what she wanted. That he would just remember what was important to her. That he would just do nice things spontaneously without prompting.
The truth is, that this is something that comes with time. Some men are better at 1 or more of these things than others. But if you want a man who does any or all of these things then you have to start by talking to him. Never assume anything, check, and recheck and check it again. And if you are still not sure, check it again. Most men are not psychic. If you want him to know what you want and or like, tell him. If you want him to remember important things, remind him. If you want him to do things spontaneously without prompting, you have to start with prompting him.
I warn you against nagging. Personally, I would rather be nagged then uninformed. It is better to hear something 2 many times, then not at all. But repetition is an art all to itself. If you want some1 to "get it," when you first say it, say it more then once in different ways. Say it 1 way first, then say it again, in a different way. This allows the listener to use both examples as a context reference, and gives you better odds that they will understand.
If you need to remind some1. Remind them. But you can also look for opportunities to add the subject to a conversation. Don't over abuse it, but if you want some1 to remember something. Say an anniversary, talk about something you really liked about a past anniversary. Not only will it help him not forget, but will also help him understand what is important to you and what you really like. Repetition is an art, there is a learning curve, it will take time to learn and master. But it will make your life better.
Moving on. Make your own luck. If you look for the exception to the rule, 9 times out of ten, you will find the rule. Don't waste your time looking for Mr. Right. Find a decent guy with a job, that you can love. If you treat him with respect, and use good communication. He will learn to be the man that you want him to be. If a man loves you, he will try to put you first. That will mean sacrifices. Love is a 2 way street. And you will make your own sacrifices.
Love is defined, as the willingness or desire, to put another's best interests before your own. Butterflies, electricity, sexual attraction, and emotions of all kinds are not love. They are parts of a healthy, romantic relationship, but they are not love. It is possible to love some1 you don't like. Its not a healthy relationship. But it can still be love.
Respect, really is a subject for another time. But in brief, its the art of treating some1 like a person. Respect is also more about yourself, then about others. Its more about pride and self respect. Its not about what you think about others. Its not about what other people deserve. Its not even about protecting yourself. My personal policy is to extend infinite, unconditional forgiveness. No matter what you do, or how many times you do it, its yours for the asking. Not because people deserve it, but because it proves me strong. If you treat people with respect, they will treat you with respect. But even if they don't, its not about them. Nobody is perfect. But we can all try to be.
Lastly, Don't be afraid of the truth. If its a deal breaker, he's going to leave you over it later anyway. Better so1r then later. He will find out, and the secret will just make your life harder, and keep you from growing close. A relationship built of on secrets is unhealthy, and while they can last, I have yet to see 1 that was truly good. And they only work when both partners are willing to turn a blind eye. Secrets always come out.
I have a glass house policy, that means no secrets. If I am ashamed to talk about something, then I shouldn't be doing it. If you want a healthy relationship, don't do stuff you don't want your partner knowing about. And if you catch yourself doing something stupid, revert to exercise C. Slap yourself, while saying, "I will not be retarded." Exercise C will save your life.
Anyway. I hope this helps some1. And I hope you learned a thing or 2 about me. Email me if you are looking for a man who is real, if not a little eccentric. I love meeting people. And I hope to meet some1 I can spend my life with. I hope you do 2.
