The gal I am looking for would probably not normally be inclined to answer one of these ads, she may not even normally read them. I do know some people read them primarily for entertainment, myself included, so my challenge is going to be writing a post that will inspire this lady to reply, if she happens to be reading. My path to this point has been both, convoluted and diverse. The beautiful, fun loving, and compassionate creature, that was my wife and best friend, died a few years back, at way too young of age. Since then I have sort aimlessly puttered around, half heartedly dated a little now and then, but mostly dwelled in a sleep-work-eat-repeat routine.

Today, at lunch, something happened, an inspiration of sorts. I went to EJ's Burgers, right here in Red Bluff, I had heard that they had a decent burger. While I was waiting at the counter to place my order, I could not help but notice a shapely blond, with long straight hair, her back to me, standing across the room at the salad bar. She was wearing a crisp white shirt, a pair of Levis, a little on the slender side of average, probably within 3 or 4 years on either side of 50. For a moment I considered approaching her, I wondered if she was single, or how she would react to a total stranger. I am not a pushy type, and very considerate of other people's space, thinking she probably just wanted to eat her lunch in peace, or maybe I am just a coward at heart, anyway I waived off the notion of any contact. After placing my order I decided it was a perfect day to eat at one of the outside tables. The sun was bright, with a slight breeze, just enough to tingle the senses, it could not be any better.

A moment after I sat down, the salad bar gal came out the door, with her food to go, she walked right by me, across the parking lot, got in her auto and drove away. I was mesmerized by that short walk from the door to her car. She was wearing some sort of open toed sandals, with kind of an elevated heel, so it was that sexy high heeled type of walk, you gals know the one I am talking about, sort of a very deliberate placement of the foot with each step. I was in awe, thinking how pleasant it would be to have lunch with her, wondering if she was also eating by herself, if so would she rather have company. Moments later another lady gets out of her car and walks right by me, into the restaurant. This one, around the same age, had slightly shorter, or darker hair, but equally as attractive, plus she flashed me a million dollar smile as she went by! Of course it was returned. I was feeling kind of weak now and tried to focus on eating my burger. A few minutes later, as luck would have it, a third gal, again within my age group, does the car to restaurant walk. This one had long curly locks, that bounced with her steps all the way, incredible! Right then I made a couple resolutions. The first, of course, is to eat there more often, I had seen more attractive Red Bluff gals, in my age group, in the last 20 minutes, than I had in the previous 2 months around here! Maybe it was only because it was during the work week lunch hour, when I am normally working, and not out and about. The second resolve, is to put far more effort, in a search for a new friend.

I have done a few stints on the online dating sites, with very limited success. The paid sites seem to be well organized, have nice photos lots of profiles, but the problem is most of the posted profiles are not paid members, so they can not read, or reply to any message you send them, and there is no way to tell which members can or can not read your message. I consider this very dishonest and will not subscribe to any of these sites. The free sites seem to be a little less organized, the photos are usually small, and lower quality, and often people have abandoned the site long ago, but it is in fact free. It logically seems online would be an efficient way to meet, but, for the reasons listed above, it has not worked for me.

Here we are at Craigslist, it has a somewhat tarnished reputation, but I think, based on I don't know what, they have very wide readership. Additionally they have this huge spam problem, with legions of people after valid email addresses, people posting fake personal ads and listing items for sale at ridiculously low prices. This is not a fake post, I am seriously searching for that special one.

A bit about me, taller guy, 6'1", a little on the stocky side of average, have my hair (maybe too much of it, and sometimes the trips to the barber may be a bit too far apart), have a house, a truck that runs pretty good, and a motorcycle when I want to let my mind flap in the wind. Kids grown, gone and doing well .... have a couple Grandbabies. Also have talent for building and fixing stuff, can also move heavy objects around the house. What I don't have, is a temper, an attitude, any addictions or tattoos (it's OK if you have some, as long as it's not scary), don't smoke anything either. I am not going to post a photo, have some I could send at your request. I would post one of you, as a "have you seen this girl" but don't know what you look like!

A bit about you (probably) fun loving, but level headed, employed (maybe retired, I'm not that far away), healthy, look good in a sun dress, like boats, bikes, and long walks, maybe a skier or people watcher, own a big ole smile ... and use it often, can cook (at least better than me ....
